What Cruise Should I Take?

Updated: Mar 3, 2023

Cruising is hands down one of my favorite ways to travel. It is a great way to see many destinations in one easy to prepare for trip. There are many ways to cruise from sea to river to ocean. There are perks to both river and ocean for you to choose from. One of the great perks with any cruise is that you only have to unpack once; additionally you get to go to multiple destinations. Another great reason to cruise is that everything is at your fingertips. They have dining covered, beautiful rooms, and friendly staff. In this blog, we'll be covering the benefits of both to learn which is the best option for you.

River Cruise

Less formal

Riverboats are not very formal, especially compared to ocean cruises. It is a very casual affair aboard the river cruise. That does not mean the food is less delicious or the staff any less attentive. The relaxed state is only referring to the dress code. If you are looking for luxury without the formality, a river cruise is for you.

Smaller Size

River boats generally only have about 150 travelers on the entire ship. It is perfect for those that want to avoid crowds, spend less time disembarking, and get to know your fellow travelers. The small boat size gives it more flexibility to go to ports further inland.

Travel Inland

Because of the smaller size, it can go to more destinations. Many of the top cruises are in the heart of Europe. You can hit many of the top destinations in Germany, France, and even Russia while traveling along the river. You'll never have a "day at sea" because each day, you'll be at a new destination exploring a new city and taking in the sites, tastes, and culture.

Ocean Cruise

More Entertainment

If you need a vacation from your vacation, an ocean cruise is designed for you. There is no lack of entertainment for cruisers aboard ocean cruise ships. You'll be able to find great shows, casinos, and luxurious spa treatments. The great thing about the entertainment on a cruise ship is that it helps to fill your time with something new at every corner.

More Amenities

The bigger the ship, the more amenities you can expect. This falls in line with more entertainment. The amenities that you can expect on a larger ship are fantastic spa services, salons, amazing pools, great fitness centers, multiple dining options and so much more.

Cover More Ground

Large cruise ships can travel larger distances than small riverboats. This means you can be in Florida one day and wake up the next morning in Mexico. This distance would be unimaginable on a ship of a smaller size. This is an excellent option for those that would like to cover a lot of distance in a short amount of time. It is also an excellent opportunity to see a wide variety of destinations in one trip.

Now that you know the perks of both options of river or ocean cruises, which option is the best for your travel needs? I am here to help work through your questions about cruises. Let's work together by scheduling a consultation to plan out the perfect option for you.
